Pelotón de la Muerte is a meticulously crafted mezcal, produced using traditional techniques in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca, often referred to as the 'World's Capital of Mezcal.' The label, which translates to 'Brigade of Death,' pays homage to the insurgents of the Mexican Revolution. These brave individuals, known as 'the squadron of death for the suffering Hidalgo,' sought to avenge the death of the revered priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a key figure in Mexico's fight for independence.
